Hi family of mine -
I wanted to jot down a few of my favorite parts of this past reunion - while they are still clear in my head.
I loved that we were all together in one place and didn't have to really 'rush' around to do anything or go off property for entertainment. For the most part our entertainment was each other and let's face it, we are pretty entertaining. :)
I also loved how we each took a night to cook and then had FHE each night. It was nice to all sit around and talk. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings about the past year.
I loved watching the grandkids run around in the grass area and playing volleyball and 500 in the pool.
I'd do something like this again - stay at a resort type location with on premises entertainment. And if there is a yummy chuckwagon style food place with delicious steak and pie then all the better. yum yum

Love the pictures! Bennett, thanks for emailing out the pictures that you did and for compiling the entire photo collection! I always say that you are the very best at sharing photos! It's a great quality.
I also enjoyed staying in one location all together rather than everyone at different hodge-podge locations. I felt like it allowed for a lot of good bonding and easier coordination for group activities.
It was nice having some things to do around the resort, especially speaking from the kid point of view.
And I also enjoyed our big dinner out.
What did everyone think about not having much of a "set" itinerary? I actually thought it worked pretty well for this reunion since not everyone wanted to do every activity, and there was still stuff to do at the resort, etc. But it's something to revisit if we go to some other locale, IMHO.
And lastly, even though the snapshots did turn out great, I do think we should have a professional photographer next reunion. It's been a long time since we've had professional pictures taken (excluding weddings). With enough notice, I think setting this up is totally doable.
Thanks everyone for a great time and great memories!
And ... great job on the t-shirts, Mary. Jacob has wanted to wear his nearly everyday since we've been home!
I also loved our meal out. I'd drive back up to the place if I had six hours to spare. I also like the more relaxed itinerary. I don't like to be scheduled out with so many activities. For me the reason to have reunions is to interact with the family. For me activities shouldn't supersede just being together. I think that a professional would be great. I'm glad everyone made the sacrifice and came.
So let's plan on July 4th weekend for Springville Utah get together in 2009. Plenty of room - short of beds right now, but we have air mattresses - and sleeping bags. Sort of camp out inside?
